France shares its longest border not with Germany, Spain or any other European country... but with Brazil.

Did you know that France shares its longest border not with Germany, Spain or any other European country... but with Brazil?

This is because France controls the area of South America known as French Guiana, which has been recognised as an overseas department and region of France since 1946 and is home to an estimated 292,354 people.

If you find that interesting, wait until you learn that much of the area is covered by the Amazon Rainforest, meaning the Amazon is part of the European Union.
