Gone With the Wind (1939) remains highest grossing film, almost a century later.

Though Avatar (2009) is the highest-grossing film of all-time (e. $4,056,000,000), it really kinda isn’t. What is that interesting is that, when adjusted for inflation, the highest-grossing film of all time remains Gone With the Wind ($4,450,000,000), which came out all the way back in 1939. Unlike Avatar, it didn’t need multiple releases to hit that number. Sorry, James Cameron.
