Teotihuacá is an ancient city which, while synonymous with the Aztecs, actually predates them by more than a millennia. The city is known today for its pyramids, which are also pre-Aztec and date to around AD 200. The largest is the Pyramid of the Sun, named by the Aztecs who rediscovered it and found it that interesting.
